What We Do
Forward thinking design. As early as 1982 we designed the first programmable expansion board for the 8719 PLL. Our modifications and designs have always been at the forefront. As avid radio users, we understand what the radio operator wants. You want products that work. Are easy to install and doesn't cost more than the radio you're putting it in. That's what we do. Our kits have been around for a very long time. Dating back to the beginning of the old CB boom in the 70's and 80's. Radio's are more complicated today, but they're just as fun as back then.

The LesComm L4 Prototyping Board in configuration & software testing.
The final board will be just slightly larger than the L2.
It will remain Plug & Play on the Galaxy 9X9. Cobra's will require soldering just like the L2 and L3S boards.
26.065 - 6.06
27.415 - u41
A license is required to operate an amateur radio.

No "encoder" required.
We have written code in the software that allows the use of the Channel Selector switch to go up or down. It even deals with the out-of-sequence steps around channel 23. This means you won't need to rebuild the channel selector area of your radio to have a 3 digit display!
As promised - easy installation.
Galaxy 9X9's are still Plug & Play. Uniden made radios such as Cobra and others will still need the adapters so soldering is required on these.
You can choose to use either the stock crystal or replace it with the one in the kit for better coverage. The display will track the stock crystal frequencies/channels correctly. Both the 11.1125 and 11.3258 in Cobra's.
Regarding the decision for either a counter or just a changeable display, we listened. You wanted displays. So the software has been written accordingly. But we gave you more!
There is 5 display modes accessed via a 5 position switch.
Display modes are;
1-Band/Channel = A01 thru E12
2-Frequency = 6.96 (26.965-CB Ch 1)
3-CB Reference = -90 thru u97 (Kit crystal)
("-" indicates all channels below 1
"u" indicates all channels above 40
"c" e.g. c19, indicates cb channels. A's are 03A, 07A, etc.)
4-Channel Count = 01 thru 192 on 8719's. Up to 255 channels possible on others.
5-Buyers choice = Any 3 Characters
Such as your initials.
This is useful if you don't want someone seeing what channel/frequency you're operating on.
The displays will be available in either Blue, Red or Green.
We've also added a Favorite Channel feature.
Using Store and Get on a SPDT momentary switch. One way stores it, the other selects it and the radio jumps to it.
There's a Band UP/Down feature. Jump 45 channels or hold the momentary switch to scan bands up or down.
Also a Channel UP/Down feature. Jump 1 channel or hold the momentary switch to scan channels up or down.
Production is in the final stages. The Beta PCBoards are being produced for testing now. We hope to have kit's available for sale soon.
Keep checking for the latest.
Again, thanks for all the support.

The latest
There has been a few folks spreading rumors that I came about the programming for my boards through other than honest means. Let me say that these rumors are BULLSHIT!! Started by someone disgruntled that I was competing with their mod board. One SIGNIFICANT difference is that I use the channel selector to change channels, not an encoder. This alone should tell folks it's not the same software. But his fans still jump on the rumor bandwagon.
If you view the photo's to the left, you can see the development of my boards along with the software that runs them. I do not believe in copying someone elses work! And I do not need to! I'm smart enough that I can figure shit out for myself! So let me put these rumors to rest. They're just that. Rumors! Ignore them!
All the software in MY boards was developed & written by ME!!!
Squelch ScanTM is included on both the LC5304 and LC6404. Coming soon is Priority Scan Memory Scan and Limit Scan.
Priority Scan constantly checks your home channel for traffic!
Memory Scan scans only your saved memory channels.
Limit Scan allows you to set the lo and hi scan limits.
Smaller versions coming! LC5304, LC6404
128 channel versions coming! LC5200 & LC6200
Watch for them on our Products page!
The latest revision of the boards are the LC5300 and LC6400. Both are rock solid with no birdies.
As requested, we have removed the scan feature and deleted that part of the instructions. Maybe when the skip dies down we'll try that feature again.
Something new is the LC2824 and the LC2500 modules.
The LC2824 is a very small module that replaces the uPD2824 PLL IC and gives you expanded capabilty in radio's like the Cobra 146, 29, the Uniden AR144, AX144, PC244, PC122XL, PRO810, Realistic TRC451/453/465 and just about any radio using the 2824/16 PLL. Newest revision can be set up for continuous tuning or a Band & +10kc switch. The version with the Band Switch also has a Drop 5kc function. The continuous tuning version has the capability to drive your two digit display. Giving a High channels indication of 00 for channel 100 and down to 79 below 1.
(New pricing!)
MB8719/34 version coming soon!
The LC2500 gives you expanded capability for the LC713X and TC910X PLL radio's such as the Cobra 25. It also replaces the PLL IC. At the moment, they are pricy. We're working on that.
If you would like more details on these, contact us via the Tech Support web page.
Until next time, happy DX'ing
Your enthusiasm has convinced us to continue with this new board!
The first batch sold out so quick we didn't have time to get a 2nd production order in house beforehand.
But a second order for 500 pieces for the production boards has been placed. We'll start assembly as soon as the bare boards get here from our board manufacturer. Time estimate is mid Febuary for the boards and end February for assembly, barring any unforeseen problems.
And yes we are accepting pre-orders.
Almost all of the orders specified "Blue" displays even though the cost was a little more, so we've placed an additional order for more 3 digit Blue displays.
We appreciate all the great comments about the board and are pleased our customers are so happy with the product.
And as we anticipated, the only complaint was the price. Well, as you can see, we've already adjusted the cost by 10%. Because of the larger board order, the board cost was reduced by this much. So we've passed it on to you. The CPU's account for 20% of the board cost. They are very powerful, but with this power comes the extra cost. We expect a lower cost on the CPU's as well. Of course we'll pass this on too.
Thanks again for your overwhelming support of the LesComm Brand!
Boards are in production!
This is a limited run to test the market.
They're being installed in our radio's for sale.
We love the power of these new processors. It has made adding a lot of features possible. Such as using the channel selector instead of an encoder. Our next version will incorporate a counter along with the display, if this run does well.
And if the reliability of this processor is good, we will look into doing away with the socket and switch to SMT for a smaller footprint.
Kit's will be coming soon!
